BIO

The men of Moving Rushmore, all twenty-something college graduates, have come to realize that they are most passionate about music and impacting people. The name “Moving Rushmore” captures the hope of the band to move the deep and untouched places in people. With elements reminiscent of Coldplay, Switchfoot, Five for Fighting, and Dashboard Confessional, the dynamic, driving sounds of the band take each listener on a journey with lyrics that invoke reflection on life, purpose and hope. With members in Kansas City, Lawrence, and Manhattan… Moving Rushmore is Patrick Largen (acoustic guitar/lead vocals), (drummer and guitarist TBD), Tim Seley (mixed media), Dave Owens (bass/good looks), and Kirk Hutson (sound engineer).

Moving Rushmore’s beginning looked much different than anyone anticipated. As the four musicians began the work of creating their sound, Tim, the visual artist, was at work documenting their journey from day one using high-def vidcasts. Before a demo was cut they amassed a loyal following as people tuned in daily to watch their authentic journey of pursuing a dream. These vidcasts have gained Moving Rushmore exposure on the front page of the iTunes Store and have drawn in listeners from all over the world. Entertaining and genuine, the Moving Rushmore vidcasts offer fans an inside peek at how much fun “six guys from Kansas” are having as they share and pursue a dream.

With a growing fan base already intact, it’s no surprise that at their first performance Moving Rushmore won the Kansas State University Fanfest Battle of the Bands, which garnered them exposure to over 15,000 people. The band is currently preparing for a busy summer of shows including a weekly event called “Chaos” where over 1,000 are projected to attend. The band continues to move forward through promotions and local radio airplay. Moving Rushmore is on the move!

Moving Rushmore offers people an interactive experience as they bring lyrics to life and engage listeners though the use of visual and aural landscapes. “It is our vision to use music to interact with the places in people that are missed, overlooked, and untouched.”
