The Songs
Song writing is a constant process. Our attention span is too short to write ten songs and stick with them for a long period of time. So we’re constantly adding new ones. It’s a very colloborative effort with Jason writing the majority of the lyrics, Patrick comes up with a melody and reworks the lyrics slightly to fit the melody, and then the band fills in the rest of the song. Here’s the songs we have written so far starting with the three on the demo.
The Whole of You (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
Part of you never wanted this
Part of you never thought of this
Until the way became unknown
You could do everything on your own
It’s all of you or nothing at all
You’re not in pieces you are whole
It’s the part of you that stays apart
That keeps the hurt inside your heart
We’ll take it all
Part of you always wanted this
Part of you never thought of this
The way you hoped you’d someday be
Became more real as you let them see
You don’t have to live in a daze
All of you can find a real place
We’ll take it all
All I Can Do (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
It’s all I can do right now to survive
It’s all I can do to keep from breaking inside
It’s all I can do right now to live my life
It’s all I can do to give what’s left of my pride
All I can say doesn’t mean anything
Just being with you, just being with you
I want things to be alright, Inside I want to hide
Sometimes to survive I run, run and hide
Sometimes not to be alone I live on my own
When sometimes are gone I know my mistake
Run back to the place, Run back to where I’m safe
I want things to be alright, Inside I want to hide
Close My Eyes (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
It’s been so long, so long
Since I’ve closed my eyes
It’s been so long, so long
Since I’ve taken time
Far too long I’ve been only trying to survive
Far too long I’ve been keeping all this hurt inside
Now it seems the time to close my eyes
Bring this light to shine through this heart of mine
Far too long I’ve been only trying to survive
Far too long I’ve been keeping all this hurt inside
When will hope be my home?
The storms have come and the wind has blown
The road grows long I long for home
Something in You (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
Every time you speak you have to wonder
“Does someone feel the weight I’m under”
You just feel missed in all the hurry
Yet all you’re told is not to worry
Something in you hurts, something in you knows
It’s all just about to sink in sink in
It’s all just about to sink in sink in
Every time you listen your mind caves in
The things you hear bring it all back again
But what you’ve faced has brought a change
You see past the words, into a deeper place
Something in you hopes, something in you dreams
Life So Loud (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
To you the noise is something you need
It keeps the questions from reaching too deep
If you get away from life so loud
Your heart will soon give way to being found
To you the silence is just deafening
You can’t even hear your own self think
The thoughts that swim around that head of yours
Go in and out around like a revolving door
It’s No Small Thing (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
It’s the fear of losing all I know
When I’m who I am
Seeing change as disrupting my life
Makes me want to hide
I’m tied up I need free from these lies
It’s no small thing to let go and meet pain
It’s not easy to stand
It pulls on the most painful of strings
It’s the only way I’ll be seen
It’s the only way I’ll be free
It’s the feeling that I’m all alone
With forgotten scenes
Is it worth the road that I’m on
To self discovery
I’m tied up I need free from these lies
Yes I’m tied up I need feed from these lies
That define my life
Don’t Forget (lyrics by Jason, music by Patrick)
Who are you, when will you tell me the truth
For how long, will you act like nothing’s wrong
I cannot answer your biggest questions
Even with the best of intentions oh no no
Just don’t forget that there’s hope
Just don’t regret that your heart broke
Breaking is paving the path for your healing
And nothing will change unless you receive it
Change is slow and you’ve got to believe it
Just don’t forget that there’s hope
What will you say ,I want to listen to you
What have you faced, I want to hear the pain
I cannot answer your biggest questions
Even with the best of intentions
The World of Me (lyrics by Tim, music by Patrick)
Welcome to the world of me
Where things are broken, words unspoken
Not as they should be
Where lies become true, and there’s no room for you
La dee dah la dee dah
I just wanna be free
I just wanna breathe
I just wanna laugh and trust
and be me

So, when will these other songs be available on iTunes?
