It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything, so I thought I should put something up. I’m a little sleep deprived at this time so my mind has been a little slow. Benson is doing well and I can’t believe how fast he is growing. I go to work and come home to a different looking baby. Makes it hard to want to leave! I think the fact that I am a dad has finally really sunk in, and I am loving it. There is nothing quite like looking at my own son.
I’m also excited about the next steps for the band. We will be sending out demo’s so if any of you that have any contacts you think would be good for us to know about send us the info! We have some new songs that we have just begun working on, so that is exciting also. It’s been awhile since we’ve created music together since we’ve been getting the demo ready, so we are getting back into the rhythm of creativity which is great. One of the songs is focused on the noise of life and how I feel like I can become addicted to it and forget what it is like to have silent times. It is so easy to get used to living with the noise around us that we never even think about what’s going on beneath our surfaces. Sometimes we even use the noise to ignore those questions rolling around in our heads that we fear exploring. If we never get away from the noise we are in danger of losing ourselves and missing some of the best chances for relationship with others. This is definitely something to think about-are you addicted to noise?

life looks so different now. i don’t think bad different. just different. i don’t really sleep less. i usually don’t sleep a lot at home, but i catch up on needed z’s during class times. i have completely re-prioritized everything in my life. things that were once very important to me seem meaningless. this is probably a good thing. my family is all i need. not video games, not TV, not the world wide web, just family. i cannot wait for this summer to get here because i cannot wait for it to end! after July, i will never have to go to class at KSU again. that is cool. that means life will probably look incredibly different again very soon. it is a vicious cycle. am i moving to el dorado at the end of July to be a working stiff? am i staying here to be a rock-star in Moving Rushmore? only time will tell. and all of you reader’s can help me decide by telling all of your friends and hook ups so we become famous and i don’t have to work. that would make me happy. but God is all knowing and He will guide me to the right path…

So I guess I should blog or something. I keep forgetting to update this thing… my bad. Lately I’ve been getting the summer itch. You can feel it in the air every year around now. People start getting antsy, sometimes its hard to focus, etc… and I can’t wait till the semester is officially over. I’ll have less to juggle (metaphorically speaking) and I’ll have more time to give to the band. I’m also in the process of looking for a potential job. I’ve found one that looks interesting, but I’m not 100% its what I’m looking for. If I get an interview then I’ll have a better idea I suppose. Lately I’ve been giving quite a bit of time to the band, and for these last couple of weeks I need to try to restrain myself. Don’t forget there’s another show on the 27th!

I just finished one of the hardest weeks I have encountered in a very long time. It seemed like every minute was accounted for and there was no room for breath or error. I have talked to quite a few people who had similar weeks. Must be something in the water. (wait I don’t drink water) But my week ended wonderfully with the victory at the battle of the bands. It was even more confirmation to me that this in fact is what I want to do for a living. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a success! Tim is working on getting some footage of the show together for those of you that missed it.
On a different topic… Linds (my wife) left tonight to Las Vegas for a whole week… : ( Sad. But on the flip side I am really looking forward to some quality time with Sydney (my daughter). I am planning on taking Thursday off to spend the whole day with her. Anyone have any ideas for what a 4 year old girl would enjoy doing with her dad?

We’re proud to announce that Moving Rushmore is the 2007 KSU Battle of the Bands winner! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. We’ll have some video up before too long. We’ve also got another show on Friday April, 27. More details to follow!
