Well, not so much the guard. Really it’s the cell phone. I have, or had, or have but don’t use…. anyway, the oldest cell phone of anyone that I know. The other day, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and found this:
Good thing I had already ordered a new phone!!! Well, I got my new phone Tuesday night, and it looked like this:
Well, it looked like that for about twenty-four hours. Now, it looks more like a paperweight. So, to recap, I have an old phone that’s broken but works fine, so I ordered a new phone that promptly stopped working. Ah, such is life and the pursuit of “better” things.

We spent all day yesterday in studio and it was awesome. We all had a blast and got lots of good stuff coming your way. Needless to say, we still all feel kinda like this…

yesterday we recorded a demo! it was great times. we left manhattan at 6 am on Wednesday and we got back to manhattan at 2 am Thursday morning. it was a long day, but we did finish all three songs! i wasn’t sure we could pull it off but we did and i am proud of all the guys. HUGE thanks to Joe Mills for hooking us up and working so hard yesterday!
HUGE thanks to Lester of Pillar as well! he was so nice to allow me to record on his Risen drums. he also bailed me out of a hairy situation by bringing by some hi-hats for me to use since i forgot mine at UCC where we practice. so thanks Lester for your generosity.
hopefully some great things will come out of this demo and the design work that Jeff Moore did yesterday! keep your eyes open.

Well, it’s that time of year for me, maybe for you too… It’s the time of the year that I’m overwhelmed with all that has to be done. I’m looking at a long to-do list, wondering how on earth I’m going to get any of the things on the list done, but yet find myself stalling and wasting time because it seems so overwhelming… Man I wish I could be concentrating on music more!!!
I realized something about myself today as a result of the weight of things… I am always looking forward to a time when things will be “better”. I usually can even give a date at which life will suddenly become pleasant. I say things like, “man if I can just get though Apr 15th life will be good”. But I look back at times in the past where I’ve done this and it always disappoints! Yeah sure things get easier sometimes, there is an ebb and flow, but the reality is, here on earth I will never be fully satisfied. But the longing to be, tells me I was created for something other… And that alone is hopeful.

for those of you out there that care about hearing our music i ask that you pray very hard for Leah Graves and baby Graves as well as Rachael Basquez and Isaac Basquez. we are scheduled to record on Wednesday this week. we really need things to go just right this week with the pregnancies for that to happen. so pray that it will all work out!

well KU lost tonight. that always stings pretty bad. for some reason this one didn’t have the same sting as the last couple of years. i think it is because all i really care about it getting my son here. all of my thoughts are concentrated on that. i don’t know how much longer i can wait and keep my sanity.
this is a short post but as always i will leave you with some wisdom. It takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow. write that down…
